Good for kids, community, and business.
Every child is entitled to the gifts of literacy and the love of reading. There are two exciting ways to join KOREH L.A. and transform the literacy landscape of Los Angeles: give your employees the chance to change a life through Corporate KOREH, or sponsor one of KOREH L.A.’s exisiting programs by becoming a Corporate Partner.
Give your employees the chance to change a life.
KOREH L.A. is the largest volunteer children’s literacy program in Los Angeles. By pairing reluctant readers with volunteers from local businesses for one-on-one reading sessions, Corporate KOREH gives your company and its employees the opportunity to make a real difference in your community and in a child’s future.
The commitment is simple: volunteers read one-on-one with a student at a local school for one hour, once per week. Corporate KOREH makes it easy for you to participate. When ten or more of your employees sign up, Corporate KOREH will provide the three-hour training at your place of business and pair your employees with students at a local school.
Besides greatly helping to improve a child’s chances of success, joining Corporate KOREH enhances your company’s image and offers your staff an incredible opportunity to make a difference in the community in which they work.
That’s good for us all.

More than half of Los Angeles Unified School District 3rd graders read below grade level.
Illiteracy has been shown to have devastating effects on an individual’s life and society as a whole, such as increased likelihood of incarceration, teenage parenthood, welfare dependency, and a drastic reduction in employment opportunities.
Studies have shown that “a student who can’t read on grade level by 3rd grade is four times less likely to graduate by age 19 than a child who does read proficiently by that time. Add poverty to the mix, and a student is 13 times less likely to graduate on time than his or her proficient, wealthier peer.”
By becoming a Corporate Partner, you will join leading Los Angeles businesses by supporting and sustaining KOREH L.A.’s work to address our city’s literacy crisis. Since 1999, KOREH L.A. has made a tangible impact on the literacy landscape of Los Angeles. We need your help to continue this work.
